Are you a 'BRAND'?

What do you understand by “branding”? When someone says ‘brand’, do you think of Coca-Cola, McDonald, Colgate, or Honda? If you have dabbled at all in online internet marketing, you may have heard the reprimand that you must "brand yourself." What in the world is that all about? Branding is the combination of tangible and intangible characteristics that make you unique. Branding is developing an image ~ with results to match.

So how will you go about the process of branding yourself in the world of online internet marketing? In this field, branding is much more than a classy logo and a powerful marketing strategy. We all know that cyber-land can be a rather impersonal place. No more can you just put a website up and expect to build a business. You want to become known on a more personal level. You must stand out from the crowd, or you're out in the world of online internet marketing business.

If you are selling mangosteen extract liquid vitamin for example, thousands of other people are also in the Mangosteen extract liquid vitamin business. Why would someone buy their Mangosteen extract liquid vitamin from you? Two reasons, firstly, because they know you, and secondly, because they trust you. That's it! People want to know who you are and what you stand for.

Therefore, the first step is to know who you are and how you want to be known. Yes, you have a business and yes you have a product or service, but that means very little to the buyer. They can make their purchases anywhere. Their basic ‘subconscious’ question is "Who are you?" So if you're not sure, how can you relay that online? This means time spent reflecting and answering a few hard question.

1. Who am I?
2. What are my best qualities?
3. What is my forte?
4. What do I do best?
5. What are my core values?
6. How will those values affect my online business?
7. What do I have to offer that others do not have?
8. What do I want to accomplish through my Internet business?

Once you have the answers to these questions, only then will you be ready to step out and become known. Below are a few ways to begin building your own self-brand:

1. A website with a landing page that reflects not only what you are offering, but who you are. Add your photo

2. Use an autoresponder system with which you can automatically send letters with your distinctive style

3. Create your own blog. Advertise your blog in other sites

4. Visit blogs written by those in your field and leave an informative comment. This allows the readers of that blog to get to know you.

5. Become active in forums that are related to your field of endeavor

6. As you come to know who you are and what you want to achieve, look for ways to weave in audio and video features to your sites. Build trust

Once you understand what online branding is and how it can work for you, you'll be well on your way to making your online business a roaring success.
