Affiliate Marketing: $300 billion turnover by end 2009

The key for affiliate marketers today is to learn as much as you can. According to report published by Forrester Research, the large portion of affiliate sales are raked in by only 5% of the affiliate marketers. Believe it, or not. Affiliate marketing sales will generate a turn over of more than $300 billion a year by end of this year, 2009.

So, beginners, how do you analyze this fact? Well, I leave it to you to think it over carefully. For your information, I’ve visited about 15 sites (3 sites related to health and wellness) put up by affiliate experts yesterday and found out they are using similar techniques or ‘standard method’ of affiliate marketing. Okay, now listen up and take your time. Learn how to be a good affiliate marketer and pay attention to the following:

1. When you promote, be sure to promote the product. Nothing else, just the product. Yes, I mean product. You just focus on selling the product. That’s what an expert affiliate marketers do. Endorse the product. Endorse, endorse and endorse.

2. To avoid mistakes, stay away from the heavy hitters. If your specialty in the offline world was marketing, that doesn’t mean you’re going to be great in the online world. Start with a simple products first. As you learn a few online tips and tricks, then you can walk into deeper water.

3. Make a landing page. Capture names and addresses. Collect those emails and start building some trust with your very own list. Take your time with this. Don’t rush them. Don’t bug them either. Work on that list immediately.

4. Bookmark all your affiliate programs. Keep track of the promotions you do. Some will be duds. There’s nothing worse than throwing money after an unprofitable promotion. What makes it worse is that you may have a profitable promotion that you aren’t paying much attention to but should be.

Let’s be realistic. You’re going to make mistakes along the way, we’re human. Remember, there is more money out there than the mistakes you can make. If you’re persistent, you’ll be an expert one day. And when that happens you won’t be able to get out of the way of those affiliate commissions.

Think again.
