Will you marry me?

Picture this. You are young and single and at a really happening party. You’re relaxed and having a great time. Then all of a sudden you see the man or woman of your dreams walk across the other side of the room. Immediately your hands get sweaty, your heart rate goes up and you get a little weak at the knees. It’s love at first site. So you pluck up the courage, walk across the room and say to the person, “Hi, will you marry me?”

That is what the nerds do. No point beating around the bush just get straight to the point. So how successful do you think that will be?

Well I am sure most of us would suggest that this style of ‘marketing’ simply will not work. We all know from experience that there is a step by step process. First you start with small talk and getting to know each other. Then you swap phone numbers. You meet for coffee and maybe a movie and so on. The point is this, there is a step by step process!

So the question is this, have you been approaching complete strangers and asking them to marry you in your online network marketing business? If you have then this is what I call Negative Attraction. Trying to get strangers to marry you and your business up front is not attractive to anyone.

Knowing when and how to present your opportunity is critical. It is not right upfront. You need to have a step-by-step system that pulls your leads to you. You need to move them through the ‘Know You’, ‘Like You’, and ‘Trust you’ phases first.

It may take years to learn this technique especially if you are a beginner.
